Schwinghammer Music Scholarship

A generous benefactor has sponsored a scholarship for a successful applicant whose interest lies in music. Open to high school students, the successful applicant will receive 50% of CVAS school fees paid under the scholarship.

The aim of the Schwinghammer Music Scholarship is to encourage musically talented students to continue pursuing their gifting. Applicants will need to meet the criteria outlined in the Schwinghammer Music Scholarship Application Form.

Other scholarship applications (except Academic Scholarships) are open all year round.

Clarence Valley Anglican School (CVAS) Scholarships will be provided at the discretion of the Principal and will reflect the School's Strategic Plan, Anglican Church ethos, and the CVAS Scholarship Management Plan. The CVAS Scholarship Program will support the school's diverse community engagement.

The CVAS Scholarship Program will not only provide an opportunity to recognise engagement with the Anglican Church, academic achievement, or excellence in a specific area but will also include those applicants who would benefit from a CVAS education within a safe and inclusive learning environment and whom, without financial assistance, would be unable to attend the School.

Scholarships will be available to students enrolling in Kindergarten to Year 12. While there are specific entry points (Kindergarten, Years 5, 7, and 11) applications will generally be considered at any year level and at any time within the school year.

CVAS Scholarships are awarded as a percentage of the appropriate level tuition fee for the duration of a student’s enrolment in the Primary School or the Secondary School, provided all conditions upon which the scholarship was awarded are met. CVAS’s inclusive fee structure ensures all ‘normal’ costs associated with a student’s education are contained within the tuition fees.

The following scholarships are ATO-endorsed for tax-deductible donations:

Academic Scholarships

CVAS is committed to the pursuit of academic excellence and creative learning through the provision of exceptional educational programs and development opportunities across a broad range of activities. Academic Scholarships are available for students entering Years 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11.

CVAS utilises an internal selection process when assessing applications for Academic Scholarships. Students are selected based on their previous academic record, academic awards achieved, NAPLAN results, and are supported by an interview with the Principal. Generally, Academic scholarships will incur a maximum 50% fee discount dependent upon the level of achievement previously indicated and maintained by the student, and the circumstances of the student's family.

Applicants will need to provide a completed CVAS Scholarship Application form, an introductory letter (age cognisant) in the applicant’s own handwriting, stating why they would like to attend CVAS and why they would be a worthy candidate for a Scholarship.

General Excellence Scholarships

General Excellence Scholarships are available for students entering any year level. Successful applicants will be selected for excellence in a specific area such as, but not limited to Art, Music, or Sport. Students can apply directly, be nominated by an associated recognised community organisation (e.g. Sports Clubs, Indigenous Community organisations, Rotary or private Music educators) or be approached to apply as identified by the Principal. Nominated students will be invited to become applicants and attend an interview with the Principal.

Applicants will need to provide a completed CVAS Scholarship Application form, an introductory letter (age cognisant) in the applicant’s own handwriting, stating why they would like to attend CVAS and why they would be a worthy candidate for a Scholarship.

Applicants will also need documented evidence of their achievements and an indication of their level of commitment, school reports for the last two years, their most recent NAPLAN results, and a dot-point history of participation in their area of excellence including the level of representation in any particular field e.g. regional, state, national or international.

General excellence scholarships will incur a maximum 50% fee discount dependent upon the level of achievement previously indicated and maintained by the student and the circumstances of the student's family.

Specific conditions considered in the annual review include an expectation that students maintain a strong effort in their academic subjects and continue to perform in at least one co-curricular area associated with their scholarship ability. They are expected to contribute and be a leader in their area of excellence within the School.

Year 11 Senior School Scholarships

Year 11 Senior Scholarships are available to students entering Year 11 and provide opportunities for students who otherwise may not be able to experience a CVAS education or wish to be included in a specific CVAS program.

Year 11 Senior Scholarships are awarded to new students to CVAS who are able to demonstrate strong academic ability and talent in at least one co-curricular area.
