Students are able to undertake alternative courses in Stage 5 and 6 through Distance Education, TAFE (TVET) and mutual agreements with local schools. More details on these courses are available online at Southern Cross High School and North Coast TAFE Students will liaise with the Principal and Head of the Clarenza Campus to ensure that all Board of Studies requirements are met.

The NSW Board of Studies mandates a minimum of two units of English as the only compulsory subject in Year 11 and 12. However at CVAS, Mathematics is also made compulsory in Year 11 as we believe that students will need the skills gained by doing this subject in their future. Additional subjects are chosen from the remaining list offered by this school.

The teachers of each stage are available for advice on academic issues and can provide appropriate information to assist students in making elective decisions and monitoring their progress. Both the Careers Adviser and Head of Clarenza Campus are available for consultation regarding elective decisions, tertiary entrance and career related queries.
